Pity, pity, Mac Mini will leave our community

At least AppleInsider believes, Mac Mini product line will be finished soon. It looks like Apple has no luck with the products, which are in the “cube†design. Mac Mini was always told to be a “design†child of Apple Cube, which was also discontinued after just one year on the market.
I do not own Mac Mini, but I always loved its nice and cool design. I think, it was really the nicest computer in the offer of Apple. But, it was not that cheap for the hardware, which was inside the gadget.
Right now, Mac Mini is really very expensive, mainly compared with Apple TV, which has a lot in common with Mac Mini. It was a very funny thing to find out that Apple TV is crippled Mac Mini with a bit different Intel processor and small changes in the operating system.
Many people like Mac Mini as it can be used as the home multimedia center sitting next to your TV and hi-fi. It is very quiet, consumes small amount of energy and it is – Apple. The user friendliness shipped in one small box. Really small one.
When you need a computer just to browse the Internet and to type some kind of text documents, Apple Mac Mini was really the best options in many circumstances. But – many people used Mac Mini as the Intranet or the Internet web server, when the expected traffic was not so huge. And right now – Mac Mini will leave our community and we will have to find another product.
The rumor is: Apple was pressed by the shareholders to introduce “cheap†Mac to make the switch from PC to Apple as easy as possible and Jobs was not willing to introduce it to the market.
But, Mac Mini fulfilled its mission.
